How to Use the Kit Safely and Effectively

1. Insert the regulator onto the canister and turn it until it clicks into place.

2. The pressure gauge will activate, displaying the pressure level.

3. Gradually bring the mask close to your dog’s snout, starting at a distance of about 10–15 cm.

4. Once the dog is comfortable, gently place the mask over their snout.

5. After use, turn the regulator counterclockwise to stop the oxygen flow.

6. Store unused canisters in a cool, dry place.

Flow duration: 90 minutes total (15 minutes per caniswter)

Pro Tips

• It’s recommended to get your pet familiar with the oxygen mask before they enter full respiratory distress.

• The canister lasts 2 years from the production date, and often even longer if stored properly.

Masks and regulators are reusable—you only need to order new canister.

You can pause and resume the oxygen flow without wasting any oxygen.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Is the kit safe to use even if my dog doesn’t have a precise diagnosis?Yes. The kit cannot cause harm: oxygen is well tolerated even without a diagnosis, especially when used for just a few minutes.

These kits are very safe to use. As a pet parent, you know your animal well: if you notice rapid breathing, a hunched posture, pale or bluish gums, lethargy, or difficulty recovering after a walk in warm weather, using it right away can help your pet feel better while you head to the vet. This is not the right solution if your pet is already in a critical condition.

No. The kit is designed to be used at the first signs of breathing difficulty, not when the situation is already severe. Acting in time can prevent worsening and provide immediate relief.

Among small dog breeds, those more prone to respiratory issues include Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, and Pugs. These dogs—especially brachycephalic ones—are more likely to experience breathing difficulties. Having an oxygen kit on hand can be very helpful during critical moments.

The pressure gauge on the regulator shows the remaining pressure. Once it’s empty, the cylinder should be replaced.

No, the cylinders are single-use. However, the regulator and mask can be reused with new cylinders.

15 minutes at a flow rate of 1.0 LPM (liters per minute).

How do I dispose of an empty cylinder? It can be disposed of with aluminum recycling or general waste, depending on local guidelines.

Start the oxygen flow and slowly bring the mask close to your dog’s snout, using treats and positive reinforcement. If possible, help them get used to the mask in advance, when they’re calm and relaxed.

Pawprint cylinders are safe to use in the car, but they are not allowed on aeroplanes.

With portable oxygen kits, there’s no risk of giving “too much” oxygen. They never reach flow rates or volumes high enough to be dangerous. Oxygen toxicity only occurs with very high concentrations over extended periods. Each kit is preset to the correct dosage, and the 30–90 minutes of oxygen provided are not enough to cause harm.

Pawprint canisters are small, lightweight, and easy to handle. Their pressure is over 10 times lower than that of a standard oxygen tank. They’re safe to use at home and in the car. They can withstand both heat (up to 49 °C / 120 °F) and cold, making them safe even if the package is left out
